This is one of the most eye-opening parts of my job.

After a showing in Sioux Falls or Harrisburg, buyers don’t hold back. The moment we get in the car, the real feedback starts.

And I’ll be honest, it’s rarely about just one thing.




The first reaction happens instantly

Most buyers decide how they feel within minutes.

Then after the showing, they start putting it into words:

  • “It felt smaller than I expected”

  • “I loved the layout but something felt off”

  • “I just didn’t feel excited”

That emotional reaction is what drives everything else.




Small details become big talking points

Things sellers think are minor often become the main focus:

  • Dark rooms

  • Cluttered spaces

  • Awkward furniture placement

  • Slight pricing hesitation

Individually, they’re small. Together, they shape the entire impression.




Buyers compare immediately

Here’s what most sellers don’t realize.

Your home is not being judged on its own.

It’s being compared to:

  • The home they saw before yours

  • The one they’re seeing next

  • Everything else in that price range

That comparison is constant.
