Whether you’re interested in hot interior design trends or thinking about selling your home and curious about changes or staging, you’re in the right place! With over 10 years of interior design experience, I have an eye for not only hot trends but also staple pieces. The best part is that I’m sharing all of it with you, stay in touch by signing up for email notifications or follow me on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube

Now, getting back to the good stuff, hot interior design trends of 2023! This year it’s all about vibrant colors, sustainability, bringing the outdoors in, and more. These tips aren’t only great for anyone looking to refresh your home, but I’ll be sprinkling in how to use these tips for home staging too. So, let’s explore some popular interior design trends for 2023.

Mixing Styles with Flair

Kicking us off with trend #1 is breaking free from the norm. From eclectic maximalism to modern minimalism sometimes it’s hard to choose. Well, thanks to some popularity this year you don’t have to. Embrace eclectic fusion with a bright or vintage accent or two while practicing minimalism for the rest of the room. Don’t be afraid to experiment! And if you find a piece that speaks to you but not sure how to make it work? Give me a call for some expert help!

This is a fun trend for your home as you live in it but from a staging point, we are actually going to go a bit more to the conservative side. While a few stand-out designs can draw the attention you want, any staging or prep you do for photos should accentuate your space itself.

Bringing Nature Inside

If you’ve been with me for a while now, then you know that summer is my absolute favor season and I have a feeling I’m not alone. There’s not much better than enjoying a nice, sunny day outside. So, what’s better than bringing the outdoors in? Easy ways to do that are using earthy tones colors and natural elements such as plants or sustainable materials like reclaimed wood. One thing about me, I did not get that green thumb from my mother so don't be afraid of using a good fake plant or two. I won’t tell anyone.

Make a Statement

Ready to make a lasting impression? Wallpaper is your secret weapon! In 2023, bold and vibrant patterns are making a comeback, allowing you to add character and drama to any space. Whether it’s an eye-catching entrance, an accent wall, or a funky powder room, choose statement wallpapers that will leave people in awe. Statement wallpapers are a great way to showcase your creativity and when done correctly can be memorable for potential home buyers. Don’t be afraid to stand out!

Less is More

Some trends are a bit more out there so don’t worry if you feel overwhelmed. Another hot 2023 trend is also less is more. Functional spaces and décor are just as popular now while also withholding their popularity throughout time. Using small pops of color in accent pieces, such as furniture, throw blankets, vases, and more, are great ways to add in a little without being a lot.

Illuminating your Space

Lighting isn’t just about practicality, it’s a great way to add character to your home. This is another area you can find a statement piece that doesn’t take up extra space. Imagine unique pendant lights, geometric chandeliers, or hand-blown glass lamps creating a visual feast for the eyes. Proper lighting enhances the atmosphere, bringing warmth and coziness to any room. Create an inviting ambiance for not only guests but potential buyers too!

As we explore the interior design trends of 2023, it's clear that creativity knows no bounds. Embrace eclectic fusion, bring nature indoors, and make bold statements to captivate potential buyers. Remember, designing is all about showcasing your personality and creating a welcoming space that resonates with people's desires and dreams. And when you’re staging a home it’s important to help potential buyers picture the space as their own. So, go ahead, have fun, and let your imagination run wild in transforming houses into dream homes.
